Soča Trout Festival 2023
Between World Water Day on 22 March and World Earth Day on 22 April, we will once again have the opportunity to come together at the events of the Soča Trout Festival, which will take place this year in Tolmin and Kobarid.
The now traditional series of events, named after the mysterious marbled trout, is aimed at the local population of the Soča Valley, as well as visitors from near and far, who care about the area's water wealth, and at promoting sustainable management of nature and local cuisine. The festival is also a tribute to thousands of years of fishing and aquaculture tradition, as it is local knowledge that has saved Europe's largest trout from certain extinction.
The programme includes workshops, lectures, clean-up events, and discussions, film screenings, exhibitions, guided tours, nature days and more. The main event for children and adults will take place on Saturday 15 April on the Tolminka hiking trail.
