Kamp Koren is situated on the left bank of the Soča River, only 500 metres from the town of Kobarid (across the Napoleon Bridge on the road to Drežnica). It nestles among numerous landmarks of the Soča Valley: the Soča River, the Kozjak waterfalls, the remarkable Napoleon Bridge, the restored front lines of the World War I Isonzo Front, and the Roman settlement called Tonocov Grad. At the campground, you can choose between smaller terraces shaded by trees, sites with water supply and electricity, and sun-lit pitches.
There are countless options for activities associated with the mountains, skies and water. The warmer Nadiža River is ideal for swimming, while the Soča is best for rafting, kayaking and fishing. It is possible to fly over the Soča Valley, paragliding or hang-gliding, or you can explore it by bicycle. To the delight of mountain lovers, Kamp Koren is a great starting point for long and short mountain treks and climbing expeditions. Among the nearby must-see sights are the Great Gorge of the Soča River, the mountains Kanin and Krn, the Triglav National Park Information Centre and the Kozjak waterfall. In Kobarid, you can visit the World War I Museum or treat yourself to dinner in excellent restaurants.
The campground also offers a boules pitch, a climbing wall with an organised programme of activities, beach volleyball, a sauna, bicycle rentals, table tennis, a shop which also sells eco-products, a bar, a fast food restaurant, a picnic and barbecue area, campfire rings, Internet access and TV. You can also spend your vacation at an ecological tourist farm, while scouts and other groups will have the most fun in the separate camping area.
