High-altitude lakes are extremely delicate ecosystems that are negatively affected by the input of any substance. They welcome respectful visitors who appreciate protected areas of nature. Swimming, bathing and otherwater-based activities are not permitted. Feeding animals is also not recommended.
Swimming in high mountain lakes is prohibited by the Triglav National Park Act. A fine of 500 to 3,000 euros for an individual is prescribed for such a violation - Article 64 of the TNP Act.
