Experience and get a taste of the Juliana Trail in 5 days and 4 stages

Walk the part of now famous trail, that circles the mighty Julian Alps. You will get the views and the feel of the high mountains, even though the trail zig-zags on the lower alttitudes, over smaller hills and valleys. That is why, it is also a great way to do multi-day hikes even for less experienced hikers.

Arrival at Bled, in Hotel Ribno. Sightseeing and walk around the town/lake Bled

Hike on stage 5 of the Juliana trail, from Bled to Goreljek on Pokljuka. About 21km of moderate hiking, that should take you around 6-7h. The stage starts at the Lake Bled and continues through Gorje, to the Pokljuka Gorge. A few steep ascents than take you over Kranjska planina Pasture and Planina Javornik Pasture at the heart of the Pokljuka Plateau, to the end in Goreljek at the Sport Hotel. Height difference on stage is about 800m.

Hike on stage 6 from Goreljek to Stara Fužina. The 21,5km stage mostly descends, so you will finish it fast, in about 4-5h. The stage runs almost entirely within the Triglav National Park and runs from Sport Hotel on Pokljuka through Goreljek and crosses many pastures. On the way, stop at Vodnik viewing point, for great views over the lake Bohinj and its valley. After arriving to Stara Fužina and settling in you can take a stroll to the lake (10min) and enjoy the lake shore (or even take a swimm) in the afternoon/evening.

Hike from the lake to Bohinjska Bistrica village. It is a short stage, that we suggest you do in the late afternoon, and enjoy the day at the lake. The easy, 11.5km, stage should take you no more than 2.5h, to complete. It runs from Stara Fužina on the unpaved roads and paths across the panoramic Dobrava meadows to Bohinjska Bistrica, which is the administrative centre of Bohinj. In the Eco Hotel Park Bohinj, you have also access to the swimming pools and welness , so perhaps you will prefer spending some extra time there instead on the lake…it is up to you when you will start the hike.

Enjoying the pools and departure. Wish to hike on the last day as well? No problem, we suggest you take the next stage, and hike to the Vrh Bače, where transfer will be waiting for you (with your luggage).
