Experience three different alpine valleys and three different ways of life in the mountains
The hike will start at Lake Bohinj (520 hm) and first lead along the paths of the First World War to the Komna plateau (1300 m), from there you will head, with moderate hiking pace, towards the mountain hut in the valley of the Seven Triglav Lakes - 1,800 hm, where you will spent the night.
The next day you continue past the lakes and head towards the 2,300 hm high mountain hut Dolič. It is also possible to climb Triglav (2864m) - it will take you an additional 4 hours up and down. On the third day you will descend into the Trenta valley - to the Info point of the Triglav National Park, where you will spend the night.
The next day, transfer to the Vršič pass in the morning, from where you will continue on foot across the Sleme pass and descend into the Tamar valley with Planica, the largest ski jumping center in Slovenia, before continuing to the world-famous resort of Kranjska Gora, known for alpine skiing. Last overnight at the Hotel Kompas.
You will hike along a part of the Slovenian section of the international long-distance route Via Alpina, which starts in Monaco and ends in Austria, but also partially runs along the Slovenian Alpine Route.
Transfer from Ljubljana (or from a pre-agreed location) to the Hotel Ribno in Bled. The hotel is the first Zero Waste hotel in Slovenia. Visit the old castle above the lake Bled, which is placed on the rocks above the lake, and gives Bled a fairytale look. Day 2
A walk around Lake Bled, sailing with the traditional Pletna boat to the island and a tour of the island. Afternoon tour of the beautiful Vintgar gorge near Bled (possible short or long version) (1h-3h).
Transfer to Lake Bohinj - the largest glacial lake in Slovenia, which flourishes in the middle of the Triglav National Park. You will spend the day walking around the lake, or take advantage of one of the tasting packages of your hosts Maja and Grega from Hike & Bike Adventures. You can also visit the Voje valley with the Mostnica gorge and one of the largest Slovenian waterfalls - Savica Waterfall.
In the morning, transport to Ukanc on the other side of the lake, and then ascent along the old path, built in the First World War to the mountain hut Komna (3 hours). Followed by another 2-3 hours of, easy, hike to the mountain hut at the Seven Triglav Lakes, where you will spend the night in the idyllic surroundings of one of the most famous valleys.
Today you will hike the path to the mountain hut on Dolič - 3 hours of a beautiful, panoramic walk through the valley of the seven lakes of Triglav. If you want, you can take advantage of the day and treat yourself to an afternoon, steep and demanding, 2-hour (one-way) hike to the top of the highest Slovenian peak - Triglav. Overnight in the mountain hut on Dolič.
From the mountain hut on Dolič you will descend into the Trenta valley in about 3 hours. There you will visit the Center of the Triglav National Park and spend the night in the hut of the Triglav National Center.
In the morning you will have transfer to the Vršič pass, from where you will start on an approximately 3 hour long trek over the Sleme pass with a view of the most beautiful Slovenian mountain Jalovec with a descent into the Tamar valley. The valley will take you to Planica, known for ski jumping and as a modern Nordic sports center (3 hours). The day will end with transfer to the hotel Kompas ***, 4 hikers, in Kranjska Gora.
