There is a hill above the village of Rateče with a parish church of the Holy Spirit.
See the Gothic presbytery with distinctive star-like ribs from the early 16th century. As late as towards the end of 18th century, a nave and the belfry were added to the presbytery and the interior of the house of God was equipped. The painting ‘Pentecost’ at the main altar, which was set in 1879 by Janez Vurnik, was painted by Leopold Layer. The most famous artwork of this excellent Carniolan Baroque painter is the image of the Mother of God of Brezje.
