River Sava Bohinjka
The Sava Bohinjka hosted the European artificial fly fishing championship in 2006.The river covers the river from the bridge in Bohinjska Bistrica to the dam in Soteska and is divided into a catch-and-release section and a section in which the fisherman can take the captured fish.
The Sava Bohinjka is known as a friendly alpine river with a sense of practicality; it is accessible from both banks, almost along the whole stream, now from this, now from the other bank and with a safe crossings. It flows from the Bohinj Lake and is well fed. It likes to give fly fishers a trophy grayling and very colorful brown trout. Sympathetic pragmatism is evidenced by the fact that it allows spawning of rainbow trout, which grow here into beautiful rainbow fish and hard warriors. The fisherman might get a surprise of catching the abundant grayling in the middle of a hot summer day.
