Lover of the Upper Sava Valley

The famous English scientist Sir Humphry Davy visited Slovenia three times: in 1819, 1827 and 1828. He took with him the beauties of the Sava Dolinka River, Zelenci natural reserve and “his old nest”, the village of Podkoren.

In memory of this scientist, the Carniolan Section of the German and Austrian Mountain Society engraved a memorial plaques on the Razinger Homestead (also known as ‘Pr Čošelno’ Homestead) in 1889. After the First World War, this plaque was turned around and the Slovenian inscription engraved. Read it!
