Luther House, Eisenach
The new exhibition details Luther biography and the theological background of his Bible translation. References are made to earlier translations of the holy text. Another aspect is the historical impact of the Lutheran Bible on music, language and literature.
An extension enables visitors to tour the entire building that is almost fully accessible to the disabled. The Luther House, an impressive, half-timbered house from the 14th century, is one of the oldest buildings in Thuringia. Legend has it that Martin Luther lived here during his school days between 1498 and 1501 with the patrician family Cotta, who owned the prestigious town house.
