A beautiful tour in a wonderful environment where you have to overcome great altitude difference without major ascents. Skiing down the Krnica Valley and higher in usually still possible in late spring because the Kanin Mountain chain in exposed to heavy precipitation.
Distance 14.4 km
Ascend from Station B of the Kanin cableway past the Krnica Mountain pasture and continue along the valley with the same name to the Prevala Mountain pass. From here, cross the terrain beneath the peaks of Mt. Prestreljenik all the way to the Mt. Prestreljenik Mountain pass located between Mt. Prestreljenik and Mt. Grdi Vršič. You should ski down the same route you came from.
In case of avalanche hazard it is safer to use the ski slope to ascend to your destination and later ski down this same ski slope. You can reach the ski slope by taking the left road at the junction above Station B of the Kanin cableway which leads to Station C of the Kanin cableway. There are numerous karst precipices along the ski slope, which is why you should ascend and descend along the ski slope and not next to the ski slope!
