From the starting point above Stara Fužina village follow the road (initially asphalt, then macadamised) to the Voje pasture which is actually an extended middle part of the Mostnica Valley situated slightly more than 700 metres above sea level. The surface is covered with ground glacial moraine, and towards the south the pasture is closed by the terminal moraine dam. It is rich in water, since the Mostnica has several tributaries and at individual sites, water springs out of the ground. Planina Voje is in a typical U-shaped glacial valley. Four bridges and a footbridge cross the Mostnica on the way from Stara Fužina to Mostnica Waterfall, so our ancestors named the river after the bridges: Mostnica ("Bridge Water"). The most famous site is the Devil's Bridge (Hudičev most) which was, according to the legend, built by the devil himself.

Turn-by-turn directions

The enchanting tour to the glacier Voje Valley starts in Stara Fužina, i.e. at the Stara Fužina 8 car park along the forest road Vogar-Blato-Voje. After visiting the gorge (optional), ascend along the asphalt road to the crossroad Vogar-Blato and Voje. Turn right and follow the asphalt road to the alpine hut in Voje (where you can make a stop), where macadamised road starts. Follow the macadamised road and marvel at the magnificent alpine meadows and haylofts. Stay on the right side at the crossroad before the bridge and continue across the pasture. When you arrive at the Slap Voje Inn (where you can take a break), park your bicycles and hike to the Mostnica Waterfall which is also called the Voje Waterfall (follow the signs). Return to the valley along the same road.
