Tourist Information Centre - Ribčev LazSafety information
The trail runs partly on a cycling route path from Bohinjska Bistrica onwards along the national road, so caution will be needed. From Mrzli Studenec on the Pokljuka onwards, the path is unpaved, so the possibility of slipping increases slightly. Forestry machinery can be found on the forest road, so caution is advised when cycling. Be especially careful when returning towards Jereka, in case you are returning to the starting point along the same route.IMPORTANT: The Pokljuka Plateau is criss-crossed with forest roads, skidding trails, crossroad and spurs and is difficult to navigate. For easier orientation, we recommend using the GPS track on your phone or navigation device and a map with the routes plotted on it.

Turn-by-turn directions
The tour starts in the village of Ribčev Laz in front of the Bohinj Info Centre. From the parking lot in front of the info centre, turn left towards Lake Bohinj. When you reach the bridge, turn right and cross it. You will leave the famous Church of St. John the Baptist. Continue along the road to the village of Stara Fužina and at the first crossroad turn right over the bridge. After crossing, turn left onto the cycling route and follow it all the way. Leave the village of Stara Fužina on your left and continue cycling along the Upper Bohinj Valley. Before a short climb, cross the main road through the valley and then ride through the village of Studor, which is located under the mountain of the same name. In the village, turn right at the wayside shrine and after a few metres turn left past the Mrcina ranch (on the right). There is a short downhill and a second crossing of the main road and then a drive through fields and meadows to the ski centre of Senožeta. Leave the ski centre on your right and continue cycling towards the village of Češnjica. Just before the village you will see direction signs for Senožeta and Brod, but keep to the left and join the main road in the village on the left. Continue straight through the village and on towards the village of Jereka. When you reach the crossroad turn left (direction: Pokljuka, Koprivnik, Jereka). Drive past the Church of St. Marjeta (on our left) and after crossing the bridge over the Jerečica stream start your ascent. You have about 5.5 km of steep climbing to get to the village of Koprivnik. When you reach the village of Koprivnik (on your left), continue straight ahead in the direction of Pokljuka. The beautiful path soon leads to the village of Gorjuše. The village is quite spread out, but stay on the main road and follow it. Leave Gorjuše on your left and continue in the direction of Pokljuka. The road soon starts to climb. You continue for 3.5 km and then start to descend gently among beautiful forests. On your left you will be able to see the Šijec peat bog as you descend. After a few kilometres you will reach the crossroad at Mrzli Studenec, where you turn left (direction: Rudno Polje) and after a few hundred metres leave the road and turn right at the second turning (direction: Lipanca Alpine Hut, Kranjska dolina Holiday House). You still have approx. 3 kilometres of gentle ascent on gravel. After 2.5km you will arrive at the Kranjska dolina pasture (on the right) from where, on a clear day, you can see the Karavanke mountain range. You are only a few hundred metres away from your destination. When you arrive at the crossroad for the Zajavornik pasture (left) and Medvedova konta, Klek (right) you will have reached your destination and can continue your journey on the Juliana Bike Trail.
