Turn-by-turn directions

The tour starts in Šmartno in Goriška Brda. Start cycling at the car park before the village towards north along the local road (left side, San Martin Hotel is on the opposite side). Continue towards Imenje village and turn right in the crossroad towards Gonjače. When you arrive at the first crossroad, turn sharp right and climb to the panoramic tower that offers a wonderful view of Goriška Brda, the Julian Alps and the Adriatic. After a stop, descend to the village and turn left to the main road, running towards Nova Gorica. When you arrive at the crossroad, choose the second exit and start a mild ascent to the village of Vrhovlje pri Kojskem. At the bus stop, turn left (direction of Korada) and continue cycling along the asphalt road that takes you through the village. When you turn right, the road starts ascending. After a few couple hundred metres, you reach the crossroad, where you turn right and continue with a mild ascent. Soon you reach a wonderful ridge that offers beautiful views and you can also extend the route to the hut on Korada (signsposts direct you to the right). Continue cycling along the unpaved road to Lig. Before the village, turn right and upwards to reach the parish Church of St Zenon and Mary’s Name. This place is also a well-known pilgrimage centre that goes by the name Marijino Celje. Then continue along a field path and past the churc (on the right) descend across the wonderful meadows to the asphalt road. You are still directed north in the crossroad and choose the left asphalt road in the direction of Kambreško. When you reach Kambreško, turn left. The road starts climbing and continue to the village of Srednje. At the end of the village, turn right and start a mild descend. In the village of Pušno, stay on the left and start a mild uphill. This takes about 2.5 km. When you arrive at the largest crossroad, turn right towards Tolmin and continue ascending for a couple of hundred metres. The road soon goes downhill and takes you to Volče village in about 10 km. Turn right there and drive to the main road Tolmin–Nova Gorica. Turn left on the main road and after a couple hundred metres turn right. Continue cycling. The trail soon descends and brings you to the Soča River and Labrca. You will notice a sports centre on the left. When you arrive to the main road, turn right and cross the bridge over the Soča River. Cycle towards Tolmin and turn right at the branch leading towards the cemetery. Soon you arrive to an unpaved road. Continue cycling past the German charnel house from World War I to the confluence of the Soča and Tolminka Rivers. Turn left at the confluence and continue uphill. When you arrive back to the asphalt road, continue ascending and follow the signs for Tolmin (a purification plant is on the right below you). Continue cycling past the first residential houses (on the right) and the school (on the left). Continue for a couple of hundred metres and you shall arrive at your destination, the TIC Tolmin.
