Turn-by-turn directions
In Bohinjska Bistrica, at Danica Guesthouse turn onto the cycling route, cross the bridge to the left bank of the Sava Bohinjka River and then ascend slowly along the river through the village Brod towards Lake Bohinj. At the crossroads near the Mostnica River, to which you will return later, continue straight on across the bridge and left onto the asphalt road to the Church of St John the Baptist on the shore of Lake Bohinj. Continue across the bridge over the Sava Bohinjka River and go left to reach the monument dedicated to the first four brave men who climbed Mt Triglav in 1778, and then continue to TIC Bohinj. Return along the same path to the crossroads, and turn left towards Stara Fužina. In the picturesque village, the pearl of folk construction, you can visit the Alpine Dairy Farming Museum. Turn left at the north-eastern part of the village onto a narrow unpaved road that leads to Studor village. When you reach the manger (drinking water), turn left onto another unpaved forest road that climbs over the Blatca pasture to the mountain hut on Uskovnica pasture. Continue across the Zajamniki pasture which is well known for its cottages that are distributed in the shape of an alley, and enjoy the beautiful view of the peaks of the Julian Alps. Continue towards Goreljek, where you can see the peat bog. Leave your bike by the road and walk around the peat bog.
