The ride starts in Most na Soči and continues along the Soča and the Idrijca Rivers to Idrija pri Bači, then uphill to Šentviška planota plateau and Zakojca. The Šentviška planota plateau is a magnificent remote world between the valleys of Idrijca and Bača.
Author’s recommendation
The trail is marked with blue signposts and markers indicating a mountain biking loop. We recommend using the Triglav National Park Map, issued by Planinska Zveza Slovenije (Alpine Association of Slovenia).

Turn-by-turn directions
From the centre in Tolmin, descend to the confluence of the Soča and Tolminka Rivers, and continue along the Soča River on the cycling trail. Behind the road gallery, turn left to Modrej and then right towards Most na Soči. A beautiful view of the lake opens up and slightly ahead, you can see the monument dedicated to writer Ivan Pregelj. Descend to Most na Soči, which is a place that you have to see.
Continue along the left bank of the Idrijca River, past the railway station and to the Zlata Ribica hotel. Cross the Idrijca River and turn left in Idrija pri Bači, then continue right on the north side of the village uphill to the Šentviška planota plateau. The winding road ends in Ponikve, the largest village on the plateau. Visit the Church of the Visitation of Mary which was restored by architect Jože Plečnik. From Ponikve, ascend slowly to Črvov vrh, which is an exceptional panoramic point. Deep below is Baška grapa and above it you can enjoy the view of the Tolmin-Bohinj mountain ridge.
Continue through Bukovski vrh and along the north hills of Kojca to Zakojca and the Pri Flandru tourist farm.
