The 2 km circuit in the immediate vicinity of the Soriška planina Ski Centre is suitable for beginners as well as for more experienced cross-country skiers. The course passes through a predominantly spruce forest on the Jelovica plateau.

You can pay for cross-country skiing (€ 3*) at the ski resort ticket office or in the Lajnar guesthouse.

Turn-by-turn directions

The course is run in an anti-clockwise direction. Bear right and descend gently through the forest. Soon you will come to a large open area where there is a 200 m warm-up lap. Short ascents and descents continue. There is running in both directions along part of the track, so care is needed. Below the power line, you climb to a viewing plateau where the view of the Julian Alps with Triglav is breathtaking. There is a short descent to the starting point.

Getting there

Soriška planina can be reached by car from Bohinjska Bistrica past Nemški Rovt villiage, and from Železniki and Podbrdo past Sorica villiage.

Parking

Parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the ski resort and Penzion Lajnar.
