This is a wonderful hiking trail appropriate for a short family hike where you can get into close contact with the Soča River and enjoy in marvellous views of the surrounding hills and mountains.
This physically undemanding circular hiking trail is appropriate for all generations and in all seasons. It is appropriate for hikers seeking some peace while walking along the river and enjoying in the views of the Tolmin-Bohinj Mountain range. It is also routed through the environment which is perfect for light jogging, since the majority of the trail is routed through a flat forest and along roads.
During the hot summer days, you can refresh yourself in the Soča River.
In the village of Volče, you have to be careful when crossing the regional road Nova Gorica–Tolmin.
Tips and hints
Just a little bit further from the Church of St, Daniel, you can join the Walk of Peace which will take you past the remnants of World War I all the way to the Church of the Holy name of Mary on Mt. Mengore or join the circular Pot po Bučenici Trail at the foothills of Mt. Bučenica.
You can also reach the starting point of the Čez Gabrce Trail on foot from Tolmin if you follow the 27th stage of the long-range Alpe-Adria Trail and the 17th stage of the Juliana Trail. This will prolong your tour for approximately 4 km and another hour of walking.

Parking is available under the Volčanski most Bridge in the vicinity of the Labrca Restaurant, next to the Mercator shop in Volče, or next to the Brajda Sports Park in Tolmin.
