Jäger trail (unmarked) from valley of Krma, Slovenia, to Debela peč summit in a step ascent of 1000 meters. Views over Krma valley and Julian alps are great from upper part of the trail and the summit.

The trail starts just behind "Kovinarsa koča" hut in Krma valley. You pass the hut and follow the clearly visible trail. The trail is steep, since the Krma valley is glacial one of extreme U shape with mountain wall of 1000 m.

At first the trail leads through the woods, following the torrent riverbed - normally dry - on its left bank. From time to time you will notice the man-made cairns (pile of stones). These are assuring you to be on the trail and will be of great help in the final stage of trail. Two examples in the picture below.
You are zig-zagging uphill thorugh the forest and just when you think you have lost the trail, look left accros the torrent riverbed and continue on the path on the otherside. (picture below)

The forest is now slowely faiding away and after short time going to the left the trail again zig-zags upwards. Again you cross the torrent go upwards. Nearing the mountain wall the trail turns right again. The steepness of the trail has now eased but after few hundred meters itstands up again. Now you are approaching the only tricky orientation point. You are walking through woods again and when you notice that the path is leading to the rocky terain you should watch closely. Something like 20m below your broad path you will notice another, narrow one. And, following the Gospel, this is the correct one. The issue is that in few 100m you will be crossing two ravines/gorges. While the broad path does well for the first ravine, the second one is very dangerous on the upper trail.

The picture below shows where I made transition to the lower path.
Continuing uphill we reach the rocky field. The trail is here barely wisible, but the piles of stones will guide you. When in doubt, go left rather than right. Here is how this looks.
When passing the rocky terain there are two short climbs in front of you. Nothing speical, just have firm grip. One of the climbs in the figure here.
After the second climb you already sense the ridge where the marked trail is leading to the summit. In principle you go straight up. Do mind the cairns here (man-piled stones) because otherwise you may end in the middle of dense dwarf pines, which is not the place you wanna be. Reaching the ridge will bring you to the marked trail where you turn left and to "Debela peč" summit.

To descend there are several options. I always choose the marked trail for descend since I am already tired and following the hard unmarked trail (where hikers are rare species) is not the best idea.
