From Radovljica to Bled (and to Straža)
There are several ways to go on foot between Radovljica and Bled. This suggested route leads mainly along forest trails and across fields. From the town centre of Radovljica follow stage 4 of the popular Julian long-distance trail, then return through the village of Ribno and alongside the Sava Bohinjka river. Of course, there's no lack of great views, the best of which are achieved by hiking up to the popular Straža hill, which is right beside the lake. From the hill there are excellent views of Lake Bled and the Julian Alps to one side, and the Radovljica Plains on the other.
We suggest that you allow the whole day for the circular walk, as there's no lack of places to stop and rest for sustenance, to relax on the sandbanks of the Sava Bohinjka or Sava Dolinka rivers, and to see the attractions in Bled. On this walk you will cross both the Sava Dolinka and Sava Bohinjka rivers, and at the end the Sava river itself.
