Plajer Trail
This is a great afternoon trek if you are looking to get an elevated view of the town of Bovec and the Soča valley below. The trail traverses the base of mont Rombon, a historical mountain and a frontline from Word War 1. On this trail you get the opportunity to pass through a section of deciduous forrest that is common in the mountains surrounding the Soča valley. This 2 hour , 6km loop is perfect if you are seeking a short hike that is suitable for the entire family.
To reach the start of this trek, ascend the road from the center of bovec towards the church. At the base of the church you will find a sign post indicating the direction of Plajer. Follow these signs up to the top of a small plateau at the base of Rombon, where the best views of the valley can be found. The trail then begins traversing a section of the mountain side before leading back down to the the center of Bovec.
