The trail is perfect for a short walk. It is geologically very interesting, because it reveals the geological Jura period - the period of dinosaurs. Summer is the perfect time to enjoy on this walk, because the shadows and the cold breeze from the stream will be the best venue to take a relaxing rest. Before WWII, wood was rafted on the Ribnica stream.
Ribnica springs below the famous pasture of Konjščica and in its lower part, it hides in the impassable gorge with small waterfalls. In its lower section, it features two beautiful ten to fifteen metres high waterfalls. There are many springs along the way. One is used to supply water to the village people of Srednja vas. Srednja vas used to be the administrative centre of Bohinj. Due to dense population, the fire of 1949 ruined almost the entire village. Špan and Preželj granaries from the 17th century, the Church of St Martin decorated by the paintings of baroque painter Franc Jelovšek, are the most interesting sights in Srednja vas.
Safety informationIn some sections, the trail runs along the slope above the spring, therefore, be very careful. After heavy rainfall the path can be slippery and partially impassable. Falling rocks are also dangerous.
