Round hike from Stara Fužina along the Voje pasture to Uskovnica
The Mostnica Gorge and the Voje Valley are among the most beautiful and popular natural sights in Bohinj. You cross four bridges and two footbridges, of which the most famous bridge is the so-called Hudičev most or Devil’s bridge. The Mostnica Gorge has been carved due to water erosion. A special natural feature is a rock arch called “elephant”. The Mostnica Waterfall is 21 metres high and is the largest waterfall of the Mostnica water stream.
Uskovnica pasture lies west of Pokljuka and is separated from it by the Ribnica Brook. For centuries, Uskovnica was the main point of alpine dairy farming in Bohinj. Today, cattle still graze there and dairy products are produced, numerous small lodges and their exterior still preserve shepherd tradition. Koča na Uskovnici mountain hut is located in the main part of the pasture. A small chapel is located only a few minutes walk from the hut. There you can enjoy in the beautiful view of the mountains that surround Bohinj. You can observe interesting hummocky meadows between the hut and the chapel, which are quite a rare feature seen in the Slovenian mountain world.

Turn-by-turn directions
The signposts for the gorge and Mostnica Waterfall direct you to the right and the wide path along which you soon reach Hudičev most bridge. Continue straightforward (the path across the bridge to the right takes you to Uskovnica via Blatca pasture), at the info board turn right. You arrive to the Mostnica Gorge entry point (payable). Continue to the right. Both paths run near the gorge (the turn to view the elephant is along the path to the right) and quite soon merge into one trail, along which you can ascend to the stone road. Follow the road to the right to come to Planinska koča na Vojah mountain hut.
Continue along the road and the Voje Valley and follow the signposts for Mostnica Waterfall. Quite soon the road goes two ways, you choose the right path towards Uskovnica and Mostnica Waterfall (Triglav and Velo polje are to the right). The trail continues across Beraški most bridge and past a roadside shrine, then you arrive to the upper part of the Voje Valley that takes you across the meadows and past a few small lodges. The valley narrows and brings you to Slap Voje Inn, from where you continue straight forward to the waterfall. A few steps onwards, the path from the left that runs towards the left is merged with the path you are on and then you continue straight forwards to the next intersection. The trail to the right runs to Uskovnica.
Start ascending through the forest along the trail that becomes steep and climbs towards the right side. Cross a large torrent and then you reach a flatter area. When you exit the forest, you arrive to the first hut on Uskovnica and then continue through the forest to the right. Soon you reach a stone road, which passes quite a few lodges. In the intersection, follow the signposts for Koča na Uskovnici mountain hut. While enjoying in the views of the Julian Alps, you soon come to Koča na Uskovnica mountain hut.
Continue along the cart track towards Srednja vas. Along the road, the signpost for Srednja vas directs you to the left narrow forest path, along which you cross several slopes. Soon you reach a cart track and continue to the left. After a few metres you reach the road, leave it and turn right to the cart track. The latter soon accesses the road where you turn left. Follow along the road and reach the viewing point Kres, where you can enjoy the views of Srednja vas, the Upper Bohinj Valley and the South Bohinj Range in the background. Descend along the road and continue to the left along the trail that takes you to an asphalt road, where you can descend to Srednja vas. When you reach the road, turn right to Studor. Walk straight on to Stara Fužina along the foothills of Studor hill. When you reach Stara Fužina, return to the starting point - a car park at the end of the village. (Source: www.hribi.net)
