Soška pot - along the Soča from the spring to the Pension Klin
The Soča spring is one of the most beautiful karst springs in the Julian Alps. The spring collects water from the Jalovec and Mojstrovka area. This springs from a deep crevice and flows through a narrow gorge that soon widens.
The Soška pot (Soča Trail) starts a little way before the hut and then goes almost always downhill along the Soča. Worthwhile detours to the Kugy monument and the Mlinarica gorge.
On the way on, the famous suspension bridges of the Soča Valley are crossed several times. Behind the village of Soča, the trail leads past the small Soča Gorge, an impressive natural monument, to the end of the tour at the Penzion/Gasthaus Klin.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the Koča pri Izviru Soče hut, ascend on a marked trail. At a turn-off, keep to the right and continue up the path until you reach the "mountaineering" section. Here you continue on a very narrow path, secured with a wire rope, down to the spring about 8 metres below. The way back to the hut is along the same path.
On returning to the hut, walk along the road for a short distance until the Soška pot branches off to the right, over which you ll walk towards the road. Once there you go up the road towards the Vrsič pass and then turn right towards the Kugy monument.
Continue on the Soška pot, descending moderately steeply through the forest until you reach one of the famous suspension bridges in the Soča valley. Keep left here and walk about 300 metres to a wooden viewing platform in the Mlinarica gorge, which is only a few metres wide.
Backtrack to the bridge and cross it to the road, from which the Soška pot branches off to the right after a short distance. Continue along it through mixed forest, sometimes directly on the bank of the Soča, sometimes further away from it, sometimes ascending and then descending again until you reach a road bridge over the Soča.
Turn left over the bridge, then right again at the end of the bridge onto the Soška pot. On the left bank always within sight of the Soča, up and down again a little at a time partly through forest and open terrain until the next challenge, another suspension bridge.
Shortly before the village of Soča, you cross a navigable suspension bridge to the other side of the river. You stay there until you reach the small Soča gorge, after another almost 90-metre ascent. After that, however, it is only downhill to a road bridge near the gorge. From there, the trail descends left for about 1 km to the Penzion/Gasthaus Klin.
Note
Getting there
Take the southern motorway and the Italian A23 to Tarvis. From there, take the SS 54 to Cave del Predil in the direction of the Predil Pass. At the crossroads at Raibler See continue straight on to the Predil Pass and down through the Koritnica Valley towards Bovec. Just before Bovec, turn left into the Soča valley.
At a fork at the "small Soča gorge" turn right towards Lepena/Velika Korita, after the bridge keep right again and drive approx. 1 km to the Penzion/Gasthaus Klin and park there.
With the second vehicle up the Soča valley to Trento, here keep left until you reach a fork in a curve on the left to the Koča pri Izviru Soče. Park the second vehicle here at the best opportunity.
The return journey can then be taken via the Vrsič Saddle and Kranjska Gora to Tarvis.
