Distance 10.3 km
When the panorama trail from the village of Zatolmin starts to descend into the forest you soon arrive into a pleasant water area where you are accompanied by the rippling of the Sopotnica Stream with its rapids and small waterfalls all the way to the Grofova voda Spring. The folk tradition says that the Grofova voda Spring posesses medicinal powers. This was confirmed with radiesthetic measurements which placed this spring alongside energetically and medically most powerful springs in the world. After you have quenched your thirst with this clear water and replenished your water supplies, take a few minutes to rest and admire the old and thick wych elm that has been drinking the water from the Grofova voda Spring for several decades. The trail continues past the largest and most beautiful waterfall. You will also have to cross a small wooden bridge below the waterfall. Along the trail you can notice the remnants of World War I. Just in front of the village of Gabrje you come across the Kofol Mill – more than a century old tourist exhibit – which is the only mill still preserved in this area.
Author’s recommendation
During the summer months we recommend you to take this tour early in the morning because more than a half of the trail is routed along the sunny side of the hill.

Turn-by-turn directions
At the gravel parking lot behind the Tolmin Cinema, head towards the main road routed through the town of Tolmin and cross it. You will arrive to the Tumov drevored street which you have to follow until you arrive to the Brunov drevored street. Turn to the left here and follow the road for 500 metres. In front of the last house on the right, turn to the right on a small ascending paved road. After approximately 20 metres, turn to the trail leading along the foothills of Mt. Kozlov rob. Just before you reach the end of the forest, start following the trail uphill and, when you arrive to the junction approximately 5 minutes later, turn to the right. After 100 metres, turn to the footpath which will take you down to the local road towards the village of Zatolmin. When you arrive to this village, ascend along the road routed straight through the village and start following the blue sign for the Grofova voda Spring. When you arrive to the last houses of the village you come across the cart track which you have to follow for approximately 40 minutes. At the homestead called Pri Podorehu the cart track levels up for a while and later descends for approximately 10 minutes to the sharp turn where the trail towards the spring starts with small steps and turns to the right towards the ravine (there is a sign for the Grofova voda Spring at the junction). From here, you only have to walk for another 5 minutes to reach the spring. On your return from the spring, follow the same trail you came from to the turn where you start following the cart track for another 100 metres. Here, turn sharply to the right on a forest trail and follow it to the village of Gabrje. When you arrive to the village, start following the trail leading to a village street and follow it to the main road leading from the town of Tolmin to the town of Kobarid. Follow this road for another 300 metres and then turn to the left on the paved side road where you join the Alpe Adria Trail which will take you past Kamp Gabrje to the town of Tolmin. When the cart track reaches the main road, start following this road for approximately one kilometre past the cemetary and the Hofer Shopping centre back to the starting point.
