The Glijun Stream forms a 20-metre-wide and 12-metre-high multi-stranded waterfall which falls into a charming green pool.
In the vicinity you can also visit the Karst spring of the Glijun Stream which is one of the largest and most permanent Karst springs in the Soča Valley. The water with average temperature of 5.5 ºC emerges between the rocky blocks of the riverbed of the Glijun Stream.
A part of the Glijun Stream flows into the Plužna accumulation lake where you can enjoy in splendid views of the Bovec Basin and the Julian Alps.
You can complete this tour by descending from the accumulation lake to the Bovec Golf Course. When you arrive there, cross the stone bridge, turn uphill to the left and continue along the road back to the village of Plužna and further to the gravel parking lot where you started the tour.
The Virje Waterfall is the most wattery during the spring months when the snow melts on the Kanin Mountain range.

At the gravel parking lot, start following the signs for the Virje Waterfall pointing down the trail to the waterfall.
After you have visited the waterfall, return back to the starting point and turn downhill to the left along the concrete road, cross the wooden bridge and then turn to the right until you reach the Karst spring of the Glijun Stream where the water intake for the accumulation lake is located.
Turn around when you reach the spring and start following the concrete road to the lake (water intake). Continue along the road routed by the lake and further along the concrete road which is basically a concrete pipe for the water flowing from the accumulation lake to the hydroelectric power plant. Continue to the first turn and turn downhill to the left towards the Bovec Golf Course.
When you cross a small stone bridge you arrive to a paved road which you follow uphill to the left to the village of Plužna. In the centre of this village, turn uphill to the left and follow the narrow road back to the parking lot where you started the tour.

There is no public transportation available from the town of Bovec to the village of Plužna.
In the centre of Bovec, turn uphill towards the church. Continue along the road and follow the signs for the village of Plužna.
When you arrive to the centre of the village, turn uphill to the right and continue along a narrow paved road which later turns into a concrete road descending to the gravel parking lot.
There is a free parking space available in the vicinity of the waterfall.
