Lake Bled is a glacial lake and the only lake in Slovenia with an island. The path around the lake is one of the most popular walks. The newly formed Lakeside Panoramic Route has three ascents practically from the lake’s surface to a height of around 150 metres and thus requires a bit more time and fitness. Straža, Ojstrica and Bled Castle offer recognisable and distinct views of picturesque Bled. The lake, the island and the castle look different from each of the three viewpoints. Straža offers a fitness trail and is packed with adrenaline, Ojstrica offers tranquillity and picturesque photo motifs, and last but not least, Bled Castle offers a view into both history and culture.
Don’t forget to bring your camera!
There is an entrance fee to go into Bled Castle.

You need to pay special attention on wet ground when descending from the Straža trail to the village of Mlino and ascending the rocky trail leading to the top peak of Ojstrica.
Going to the top of these hills is advised against when the paths are snowcapped or have icy stretches.
