Čmpevka is one of ten Cherry Blossom Trails, which are named after old Brda cherry varieties. The trails are marked by brown signposts, yellow and white circles and yellow arrows on roads, rocks, trees and other flat surfaces.
Starting and ending in Dobrovo, this dynamic loop trail will take you through the villages of Šlovrenc, Gradno and Vedrijan and reward you with magnificent views along the way.
In Dobrovo, you can see the Dobrovo castle and visit its museum and gallery, as well as the Klet Brda winery, the biggest Slovenian winery. The village of Gradno, which is probably named after "graden", an oak species once very common in Brda, is interesting in several ways. Here stands St. George's church with frescoes painted by Tone Kralj and stations of the cross painted by Zoran Mušič. The village is also known for being the home of the oldest olive grove in Brda and for its renovated dry stone walls made of local sandstone, a true rarity. In Vedrijan, you can see St. Vitus church.
Safety informationThis trail goes over a stream, which cannot be crossed during heavy rain periods as the water level gets too high.
