Kozanka is one of ten Cherry Blossom Trails, which are named after old Brda cherry varieties. The trails are marked by brown signposts, yellow and white circles and yellow arrows on roads, rocks, trees and other flat surfaces.
The trail starts in Dobrovo and leads through the villages of Medana, Kozana and Biljana back to the starting point, taking you on a scenic trip across the Brda hills and valleys.
At the Dobrovo Renaissance castle you can learn about the history of the castle and the life of the Baguer family. The wine-growing village of Medana is proud for being the birthplace of poet Alojz Gradnik and cultural worker Ludvik Zorzut. In the village of Kozana, surrounded by vineyards, you can see St. Jerome's church with a bell tower reconstructed according to the plan by the famous architect Jože Plečnik. The village of Biljana is recognizable from afar by its St. Michael's church with a typical Aquileia-type bell tower.
Safety informationThis trail goes over a stream, which cannot be crossed during heavy rain periods as the water level gets too high.
