Mt. Prisojnik is a wonderful stubby mountain with a magnificent north wall facing the Vršič Mountain pass. There are two secured trails routed across this wall, however, they are quite challenging and only appropriate for experienced mountaineers.
This route passes through an inaccessible area and is therefore closed. Current information

Distance 7.9 km
Start on the Vršič Mountain pass and ascend along the gravel road towards the Poštarski dom Mountain hut on Vršič. When you arrive to the viewpoint of the Ajdovska deklica (face in the northern wall of Mt. Prisank), descend a little and cross the slope in the direction of the wall through a nice larch forest. It will get tense already at the beginning of the secured trail because you will be faced with a short vertical section. The following sections are easier and routed across a very diverse terrain. Exposed sections of the trail are exemplary secured, however, you should remain cautious all the way to the end. You will come across an interesting sight on your ascent – narrow passage between the rocks where you have to push your knapsack (if you carry one) in front of you in order to pass. When you reach the Prednje okno Window in the wall of Mt. Prisojnik, climb through this window to a steep secured wall and continue ascending with the help of iron clamps until you arrive to the ridge. Here, the trail joins the easier Grebenska pot Trail which leads along a sightseeing ridge for approximately 1 h. You should have no problems reaching the top of Mt. Prisojnik where you will be able to enjoy in splendid views. Return along the Slovenska pot Trail which turns to the south. It is routed around Mt. Prisojnik and leads across a scree slope to the Vršič Mountain pass.
Author’s recommendation
You should only take this tour if you know how to climb and if you are experienced in climbing along secured trails because this is a very demanding trail.
