Tour to Mt. Bavški Grintavec from the village of Soča (2347 m)
While admiring the diversity of the landscape, you will no longer find the trail particularly long anymore. You will also forget about the time in the section leading towards the top because you will have to pay attention to the varied rocky terrain.
In nice and sunny weather, the top of the mountain will reward you with unique views of the Julian Alps all the way to the Karavanke Mountain chain and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. You will also be able to enjoy in splendid views of the neighbouring summits of Mt. Jalovec and Mt. Mangart and the Bavšica and Trenta Valleys.
Author’s recommendation

Turn-by-turn directions
Follow the well-marked steep trail through the forest which will take you to the abandoned village of Lemovje. Continue along the trail which is partly routed through the forest and partly along grassy slopes, cross the steep south slopes and continue to the sightseeing hunting lodge on the mountain pasture above the village of Soča. From here on, follow the marked footpath to the right and ascend along the grassy slopes and through the increasingly thin forest. When you exit the forest, hike through dwarf pines and continue to the scree slopes beneath Mt. Bavški Grintavec. In the last section, you have to ascend across scree slopes where caution is required due to the exposed and crumbly terrain. Return to the village of Soča along the same trail you came from.
