Mt. Srednji vrh (2134 m) and Mt. Krnčica (2142 m), two wonderful mountains of the Mt. Krn Mountain chain
Author’s recommendation
Safety information
From the Vrata Mountain pass there is a mule trail routed along the exposed terrain. If you decide to take the ridge trail from Mt. Srednji vrh towards Mt. Krnčica, which is not entirely marked, you should be cautious while hiking and climbing. Directions are simple. If you walk in a group, I recommend you to use safety helmets because certain parts of the trail are routed along rocky terrain.
Tips, hints and links
If you would like to shorten the tour you can drive to the parking lot in front of the Zapleč Mountain pasture. Certain sections of the road are in somewhat bad condition and less appropriate for vehicles with low chassis.Start

Turn-by-turn directions
In front of the Zapleč Mountain pasture, just next to the parking lot, there are signs on your right which you follow in the direction of the Vrata Mountain pass and Mt. Krn. The comfortable mule trail is covered with grass and easy to follow. The trail from beneath the Vrata Mountain pass to the top of both mountains is routed along rocky terrain. The mule trail is also routed through a short tunnel. Certain sections of the trail are carved into solid rock or quite exposed, but safe. In spite of it being safe, the trail requires constant caution, especially if you decide to hike along the ridge trail from Mt. Srednji vrh towards Mt. Krnčica.
