This easy tour is appropriate for a wide range of undemanding cyclists. The dynamic local road through the villages allows you to avoid the unpleasant main road between the towns of Tolmin and Kobarid. In Tolmin, follow the sign for the village of Dolje. Cycle through the villages of Dolje, Gabrje, Volarje, Kamno and Ladra until you arrive to the town of Kobarid. The described tour leads from the town of Tolmin to the town of Kobarid but you can also make it in the opposite direction. There are two popular hiking destinations you can visit along the trail: Mt. Kozlov rob in the town of Tolmin and the Grofova voda spring above the village of Gabrje. During the summer months, the most courageous cyclists can freshen up in the Soča River.

You can start the tour in the town of Tolmin or Kobarid and return along the same road or take a bus in one direction.
The local road is far less busy than the main road routed along the opposite bank of the Soča River, however caution is still advised.

For those who like to combine cycling with hiking: In the village of Gabrje you can hike along the ascent to the energy rich Grofova voda spring.
During the summer months you can stop and freshen up in the Soča River.
In some of the villages you can find village troughs where you can replenish your water supply.

Centre of Kobarid
From the centre of Tolmin, follow the signs for the village of Dolje. The tour is routed along a shady road at the foothills of Mt. Kozlov rob. You soon arrive to the village of Dolje where you have to overcome a short ascent and then descend to the village of Gabrje. Those who would like to combine cycling ad a short hike to the Grofova voda spring can follow the sign at the beginning of the village pointing uphill to the right. The analysis of the Grofova voda showed that this water is of high quality and the folk tradition says that it also possesses medicinal powers. This tradition also says that it was daily delivered to the count in Tolmin who drank it to remain young forever. When you continue the tour, you can turn downhill to the left at the end of the village of Gabrje towards the Soča River and Kamp Gabrje where (during the summer months when the camp is open) you cat get some refreshments and freshen up in the Soča River. When you continue, you first have to overcome a few short ascents and descents before arriving to the village of Volarje from where the road gradually ascends to the village of Selišče where you cross the bridge across the Volarja Stream and continue along the shady road to the village of Kamno. The road between the villages of Kamno and Ladra is relatively level. From the village of Ladra you only have to overcome approximately another kilometre of road with short ascents until you reach the town of Kobarid.

From Nova Gorica: Nova Gorica - Kanal - Tolmin.
From Ljubljana: Ljubljana - Idrija - Tolmin.
From Bled/Bohinj: Bled - Bohinjska Bistrica - Soriška planina - Podbrdo - Tolmin.
From Kranjska Gora: Kranjska Gora - Bovec - Kobarid - Tolmin.
