Distance 9.6 km
At the village of Tolminske Ravne, start ascending along the marked hiking trail towards the Razor Mountain pasture. You can quench your thirst at the trough with running water where you can choose between two ascents: The left trail is shorter and steeper, whilst the right trail to the right is routed along a comfortable mule trail. This option is usually selected if the area above the starting point is already covered with a blanket of snow. You leave the forest after approximately 60 minutes. On the mountain pasture you can soon notice the mountain hut which is closed during the winter months.
If snow conditions are good, you can put on your skis already on the mountain pasture. Walk past the mountain hut along logical passages until you reach the thin forest which you pass on the right and continue ascending along the snowy slope. When you arrive to a level section, a view opens towards Mt. Meja on the left. You can ascend along the far left ridge or directly along the ravine (directions are drawn on the photo). The open terrain makes directions simple.
You should choose your ski route in accordance with your abilities. In good snow conditions, the more demanding skiers will be tempted to ski down the ravine they came from.
Author’s recommendation
If you are used to walking along steep slopes we recommend you to climb to the top of the mountain on foot directly along the ravine or along the well visible ridge.

Turn-by-turn directions
At the parking lot in the village of Tolminske Ravne, start following the summer trail towards the Razor Mountain pasture. At the marked junction at the trough with running water, choose between the shorter and steeper trail and the longer and more gradually ascending trail. When you leave the forest you arrive to the meadows of the Razor Mountain pasture. Here, turn directly uphill to the foothills of Mt. Rušnati vrh and cross the slope to the left towards the west. Ascend to the well visible mountain pass and continue along the right slope until you reach the following level section of the trail. Continue ascending to the left towards the west. You can decide to ascend along the well visible ridge which ends on the top of Mt. Meja or to walk on foot along the ravine which is well visible from the level section and which ends just beneath the top of the mountain. Choose the ski route which is the most appropriate for you. We recommend you to inspect the terrain already during your ascend.
