Start in the village of Tolminske Ravne and follow the marked trail towards Mt. Tolminski Migovec. When you reach the sign for the Kal Mountain pasture, turn to the right. Ascend through a nice beech forest and along a quite steep ravine and then cross two mule tracks coming from the Razor Mountain pasture. When snow conditions are good, you can already put on your skis when crossing the second mule trail.

Immediately when you leave the forest, you will be able to notice the mighty Škrbinska plošča wall. Plan your ascent in accordance with snow conditions. You will generally decide to ascend along the summer trail. Snow conditions will also show you the place where you will turn to the right towards Mt. Vrh nad Škrbino. Directions are simple because Mt. Vrh Konte is a double-headed summit which you can already notice when you arrive to the clearing. Ascend in a zig-zag pattern towards Mt. Vrh nad Škrbino and take your skis off when you arrive beneath the summit of Mt. Vrh Konte. Use your crampons and the ice axe to climb to the top where there is only room for a couple of people.

Ski down the same way you came from and select the slopes where you can leave your mark. Skiing delights usually end when you arrive into the forest. Descend down the ravine back to the starting point.

Author’s recommendation

Skiing is the nicest in early spring or when the snow is already run up.

Safety information

This tour is unsafe immediately after the snowfall because the inclination of the slope to the west of Mt. Vrh nad Škrbino is uncomfortable for climbing.

Tips and hints

If you have enough energy and willpower, you can also turn into the valley to the east of Mt. Zeleni vrh, which also offers great ski touring.
