The trail to the Polog Mountain pasture is probably the most popular jogging trail for the locals of the Tolmin area. This does not mean that the trail is crowded, it just means that you will probably meet other joggers along the trail. This trail is predominantly routed along a gravel road. Only certain sections exposed to erosion and steep slopes are paved. The ascents and descents along the road are gradual and the road winds around the numerous hillsides of Mt. Vodil vrh high above the Tolminka River. The road is routed almost entirely through the forest and provides cool environment even during the hottest summer months.
In front of the Zastenar Farm, where most joggers turn around, you can quench your thirst with excellent water from the Labrca Spring next to the road which, as tradition goes, possesses medicinal powers.
Author’s recommendation
During the top tourist season (July and August and certain holiday weekends), jugging can be somewhat unpleasant because of the dust from the passing vehicles.
